Came to Bhubaneswar yesterday after a gap of 5.5 years, last time was here sometime in June-July'03.
Attended Arvind Padhi's Wedding, its just amazing how many ways wedding happen in our country... Till now I have seen Punju, Sikh, Christian, Tamil wedding and today I attended an Oriya wedding... i am sure there are lot more and would be seeing in due course.... India truly is 'Unity in Diversity'....... (There are regular news of regionalism ' Marathi Manoos in Mumbai the biggest one; but still in the heart we are Indian; its just politics which is becoming worse day by day.....)
I had a great time at wedding though got bored in between for sometime as only person I knew was the groom and knew his family a bit......
After the wedding went to 'Jhabier'... It was good to be back to campus after 5.5 years... It was just a nice feeling not great as I expected...... Met two Professors, 'Banikant Misra' & 'D V Ramana'. Spent sometime with them and had a round of campus....
One thing with which i definitely got impressed was the development, which has taken place in Bbsr over last 5 years..... The road to campus looks amazing and totally lit unlike the old days, when it used to be totally dark... In general city looked lot more lively... but still it has long way to go...
One disappointment was 'Pal Heights' my Fav restaurant during my days at XIMB, It used to have a huge lawn, which now has been converted into a shopping complex plus small hotel... guess the owner wanted to capitalise on construction boom and must be lot more profitable then just one restaurant... i ate there only for old time sake though name of the restaurant also has changed and ambience also.... food wasn't as great as it used to be....

Elections
Delhi Elections results got announced yesterday & I was glad congress won... I am no supporter of congress, but the development city has seen in last 5-7 years is worth applauding and definitely gives congress a reason to be re-elected. BJPs campaign was too opportunistic and short term to make significant dent despite lot of Media talks of congress losing elections in Delhi....
Till now I haven't exercised my voting right (Not happy about it, but have been a nomad from 2001-2008) and was keen to find out if I can vote in this election, unfortunately now I am eligible to vote in Gurgaon, so will have to wait for central government elections, which are round the corner and I promise myself to get my voter's ID card made before that....

Real Heros
Salute to the Indian armed forces (NSG, Marine Commandos, Indian Army) and others (Brave & Honest man of Mumbai police) who risked their lives to fight the terrorist attack on our country and to others (Fire Brigade staff, Ambulance staff, hotel staff ....) who provided crucial support to the operations to make it a success.
Praying for the souls of the Martyrs of the terror attack on my country. May your souls rest in peace.
My Condolences to families who lost their near & dear ones in the gruesome attack.
